David LaChapelle - Palacio de Hierro

For The Selfie Experience at El Palacio de Hierro, I designed a façade projection that translated 40 years of David LaChapelle’s work into a living visual narrative.

Through generative AI, I fused his iconography with Mexican culture, fashion, and interior design, building a system where images dissolve and re-emerge in constant transformation.

The piece collapsed the sacred and the profane, the ephemeral and the eternal, into a unified visual language across the building’s surface.

More than projection mapping, the installation extended LaChapelle’s legacy into physical space, making it immediate, immersive, and emotionally resonant for a new audience.

It stands as a luminous intersection between his hyperreal universe and the textures of Mexican identity—rendered, reinterpreted, and made present through light.
